Interesting all the hoopla around CouchDB: Perform like a pr0n star…
Before the Web (yeah, the 1.0 version.. sigh ), I was also in a all-dudes-what-no-chicks? field: contemporary music composition (or unpopular music, if you will). There are surely some fascinating deep sociological hypotheses to be drawn on the origins of the gender unbalance in those areas.
But could it be that also — more simply — the conference circuit being what it is, that presenters feel compelled to be cute in order to perform (like the aformentioned stars…)? And that cuteness is expressed in sometimes puerile fashion…
